Founded in 853 AC by Louis the German in honor of his daughter Hildegard, the Fraumünster in Zurich is well known for its former cloister fresco created by the Swiss painter Paul Bodmer, the tinted glass windows in the choir created by the French artist Marc Chagall, and the 9-metre-tall tinted glass, by Augusto Giacometti, dominating the Münster’s North transept.
