In the busier city centre of Lausanne, the Church of Saint-François (French: Église Saint-François), built in 1272, is also worth a visit. This Franciscan church was once the centre of an important monastic complex protected by the southern wall of the city.
The many renovations that have taken place since the Reformation have severely altered the interior of the church and its Franciscan character.
Nowadays, music concerts are often held in the Church of Saint-François.
